I first saw the Bogg Bag at our local pool last summer. I didn’t just see it – all of a sudden I seemed to be the ONLY person not carrying one. It was like they sprang up like mushrooms overnight. When I looked them up, I was a little shocked by the price. The XL Bogg Bag can run about $90 – $100. I’m willing to spend money on good sunscreen but beach bags? I don’t think they should be that expensive. I’ve found several bags inspired by the iconic Bogg Bag and alternatives on Amazon that don’t break the bank and look just as good as the real thing.
We spend enough on the beach as it is – pool toys, sand toys, snacks and beverages, towels, beach chairs – it all adds up. A beach bag shouldn’t contribute to the expenses of summer! I was trying to figure out what made the Bogg Bag’s such a loved item and it seems to be a few reasons:

Simple Modern Rubber Beach Bag
This is made of EVA material and has a water-resistant zipper pocket. It holds a ton and truly is a great quality that rivals the Bogg Bag. It comes in several colors in medium, large and extra large. I got the large and found it plenty big enough. This particular color is called 80’s mix and it’s new this season. Simply Southern Waterproof Tote Bag
This one is a little more similar to the Bogg Bag with the little white button details on the end of the handles. It has removable straps and a removable clear zipper pouch on the inside. It comes in some really pretty vibrant colors. This is the lookalike I like the most. I actually ordered this dupe and used it frequently this summer at our local pool. Size-wise, it’s slightly narrower than the original Bogg but still fit towels, sunscreen, and snacks for the three of us. If you don’t want something that’s overly huge and just want to keep it simple with the smaller rubber tote, this is a perfect option. We are planning a trip to Florida in January and I plan on taking this as it’s a great smaller size which is perfect for traveling. I also find that the smaller Bogg Bag dupes are best for vacations, road trips or any kind of holiday excursion because when you’re at a resort of hotel pool, you don’t need to haul around as much stuff. This Bogg Bag dupe has pretty high ratings and I love all the fun colors it comes in! It also comes in three sizes: medium, large and extra large which makes it a great option depending on how big you want the bag. Bonus? It comes with a little organizer pouch. The opposite to my recommendation above, I plan to use this for the any long days over at the lake my parents live on. When we spend the entire day there, I need to haul towels, snacks, water bottles, sunscreen, first aid kit – you name it!
